To whom it may concern:
Thank you for your time and consideration. My name is Kendall Wood and I have been intimately involved with the IT industry for the last 15 years. Attracted mostly by its ever-changing, and therefore, exciting and challenging nature, I have failed to digress from this industry having instead assumed many supporting roles.
As a student, I have acquired Comptia’s premier A+ and Network+ computer technician certifications and am actively involved in learning or keeping up with various programming platforms. Currently my focus is C#.NET for windows applications which I am heavily invested in. My secondary experience and or interests rest in WordPress, PHP, Java, and cross platform mobile development using C#, Mono-touch, and Mono for Android. Lastly, I would like to broaden my C# experience with C# for Web Applications.
As a software developer, I have actively consulted with management, designed and implemented software training solutions for educational and corporate markets alike, including two community colleges, two universities, and one corporate customer (refer to resume). I currently do freelance services to implement two new software products that I have created for the call center industry and educational arena called “Orchestra” and “Conductor”. You may read more about this on my website at http://www.crmtsolutions.com . Currently these two products are being used by North Arkansas College with an interest by Spokane Falls Community College as well.
As a SEO Consultant & Website Designer, I have worked with small business to promote and market their products and services online. The American Institute of Medical Careers (http://www.aimedcareers.com) contracted out my services and within 6 months I was able to increase site traffic by 1000%, triple class enrollements, and rank 20 traffic generating keyword search terms in the #1 position on Google, Bing and Yahoo.
Frontline Housekeeping Plus (http://www.housecleaningspokane.com) was another small business client that I was able to provide my services to. In just four months we designed a new site to capture web traffic and generate leads as well as achieve first page results in the top three search engines.
As a business owner and partner of Spokane Digital between 2003 and 2006, I was responsible for the general operation of the company, along with the retail sales and installation of a variety of consumer electronics including DirectWay and WildBlue, two satellite Internet delivery systems. I provided PC upgrade and repair accompanying scheduled maintenance programs for our customers. I consulted with customers to provide them with digital solutions such as LAN design, installation and configuration, website design, and software development. I also developed a creative marketing method that I called “Trade-Vertising,” which helped Spokane Digital to generate partnerships with local espresso company Blissful Blends, KQUP Channel 24, and the Garland Theater to both promote our business, and advertise our services for free. I helped secure contracts with Circuit City’s Home Installation Network and Ironwood Communications where we were responsible for installing and educating our customers on a broad range of home audio, video, and theater products. I also helped secure a contract with Hub Technologies that resulted in almost 300 classroom digital overhead projector installations for the Mead school district.
As an instructor and program developer with the Community Colleges of Spokane, I created curriculum and taught computer hardware and software fundamentals, as well as Microsoft Office Suite proficiencies. I also did contract training for McKay’s Machining in Spokane Valley and AMX in Cheney. I believe myself to be an effective instructor and I find teaching a very rewarding job. I’ve consistently received great reviews by both, my superiors and by my students of which I would be happy to share.
As an employee I worked with Global Edge Marketing’s SEO department and was part of the team that helped put http://www.personalmoneystore.com at the top of the search engines for one of the industry’s most competitive keyword terms “Payday Loans”.
As a independent contractor I have been contracted to develop other pieces of software such as Craigslist FirstLook as advertised on http://www.finditoncraigslist.com. This site is still under construction but the software I developed is due to be released later this year. I have just finished a data mining piece of software called Digit Digger which mines web data and writes it to a database using the SQL Azure cloud services. This software was developed for affiliate marketing and lead generation services.
I believe my cumulative experience in end-user support and installation of computer hardware, software, and consumer electronics, my background in curriculum design and instruction with the Community Colleges of Spokane, my experience with public relations, presentations, new business operational management and coordination, my technical skills in website design, software development and Search Engine Optimization along with my premier certifications through Comptia as an A+ and Network+ certified computer technician makes me a valuable asset for your organization.
I hope to benefit your company with my diligence and commitment. I know that you will find my motivation, ambition, and the skills that I possess to be a valuable asset to your company, as I am certain that your company will be a valuable asset to my education, professional development, and lifetime career goals.
